Can you picture yourself here?
This is the area by the front counter. The refrigerators covered in red gingham are full of pies for diners to take home! We took a blueberry crumb home for the kiddies!
The outside of this charming place. They also have a shaded back patio with a pergola to sit under and dine in the summertime.

Yesterday was such a beautiful day! My parents and I enjoyed having lunch at the Red Oak Inn Dining Room. If you ever get the chance to visit the historic village of Bishop Hill, Illinois take it! For lunch we had delicious Swedish Meatballs in a cream sauce served over noodles, a side salad, and served with a slice of light Swedish Rye bread. Of course they had ligonberry iced tea and homemade desserts to choose from. My Mom got a slice of their fabulous coconut cream pie, Dad got Swedish cream served with a raspberry sauce and I got quadberrry pie a la mode. Is your mouth watering yet?

What a sweet spot! I love those kinds of places, like stepping back in time a bit. (((hugs))))-Jenny
Hi Heidi, thank you so much for your compliment.
The painting is a commission piece for Cristus art Gallery. I am not sure how much the gallery sells the painting's for?
I am thinking of going back on Ebay by the end of the month. So hopefully will paint some nice paintings for then.
Great fun I have drawn an older baby last night and thinking of going along the family life of Mary and Elizabeth if say they were born near our time. Elizabeth and Mary visiting one another while holding their two boys. Then painting them as the get older next to their mums.
Are you creating a new painting? love to see your next art.
Hey thanks a bunch for your advice, I to must edit what I write before posting ha ha. have a great day
Oooo, you are making me hungry. Looks like such a fun place to go.

Hi Heidi, The juice sounds delicious.
I don't think I have seen this juice, will have a look around the shops. I think I will certainly think about my own health more from now on. Plenty of blueberries, just as long as I don't turn blue, lol. Even though it is my favorite color!
What is your favorite color?
My sister's favorite is red.
My hubbies is green.
Some people do not have a favorite color, they have never thought about it really. We are all so different.
Here's me rambling on again, just humour me,lol!
Hope you have a great weekend!
A BIG SMILE:)
Hi Heidi, so looking forward in seeing your art doll. I love art dolls. I think they are sometimes more special than paintings because you can hold them. A little bit of childhood.
I love pink also. My second favorite to blue.
The only lady in in the house, I hope you get spoilt with lots from your family love.
I have three boys and three girls. 3 boys came first and thought I wouldn't have any girls. Then I had 3 girls. I love all my babies, boys are easier to please!
Here's to a loving mum in pink!
Luv and hugs!

Yup! Watering :D I need to go bake to satisfy my cravings now xx
Hi Heidi, lovely to hear from you, thank you.
How are you developing your art doll? Are you winning?
Sending you some virtual sunshine and real if possible!
This looks like a great spot. I'll take some blueberry crumb!:)
Thank you Heidi for your sweet comment and bid. You are right, Moms do pick new Husbands over their children all the time. So sad. If only it was just a fairy tale. Good luck on your bid!

I recall something about the Mississippi River in the lower Minnesota and upper Iowa area once being a major source of shells for buttons. My wife is a serious button collector, which is probably why I came across the bit of trivia.
Yes, I am drooling. I love swedish meatballs! Sounds like you had a great day.
I cracked up at your "dumb bunny" comment on my blog...too funny.
Enjoy your weekend!!
