My New Frida ~ Mi Frida Nuevo

Last Sunday I attended the Artists' Reception at the Art Center and was encouraged by some very nice compliments of my Frida. It was a blind buy so I don't know if the recipient of my Frida liked her or not. I feel like calling her and offering her the twenty dollars back if she doesn't want it. When I say this people often say well just paint another one. It isn't in my nature to be repetitive. I am always looking for new challenges. Anyway I decided to do a new Frida and this is what I came up with. the last picture is of my first Frida. This was a mosaic project and it was really a cool exhibit.
I feel bad I haven't been blogging. I guess I like reading better than I like writing. I've got to run to the school and help my fifth graders with math. Happy day to all!

We all love Frida! She looks great! But has your husby figured out who "the girl with the monobrow" is yet? LOL

Such a beautiful relationship you have with your mum, I am so pleased. To sit and both relax like this is great! I want to be more like this then it doesn't matter who called round.
Happy creating and reading and bless you both!

Thank you so much, I truly enjoyed looking at all the beautiful icons, oh there are so many extra special paintings. I think there was and craze for this then all those years ago.
Thank you for taking time to look for these. I think I will be staring at these paintings now forever.
Some of them have so many members in their paintings, must of took them a long time to complete, but of what a beautiful feeling they must of had when they could stand back and look at what they had made.
I think looking at these paintings I have a design for a new eye shape. Great this is a relief!
I am looking at the mouths also. But would like to keep my one line nose, it reminds me a little of Picasso's paintings. Finding the same eyebrows on the painting I have placed on my blog, helps me with these. Plus the titled head and halos.
I have it sorted?
Thank you so much, the journey you took as helped me immensely.

Hugs and luv and a BIG THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Heidi,
I love your frida's. I am with you on the repeating thing but have been finding that a collection of works similar in subject is okay. each one will be different so it is all good in the end.
What ever you paint it will be wonderful.
Blessings,Pea

Your Fridas are lovely. I think I'm the only person in the world who hasn't painted Frida yet. I better get on that. :)
